A Calculation about Protoss

Is it seriously possible to find the creatures like Protoss or Zerg in our Galaxy or neighbour Galaxies?This question can be found funny but there is a really maybe very little chance to find similar Organisms in our Universe.This problem can be thinked like humans Alien search problem which can be calculate by the famous formula which is designed and published by Dr. Frank Drake in 1960s n an attempt to estimate the number of extraterrestrial civilizations in our galaxy with which we might come in contact.
N = R* x fp x ne x fl x fi x fc x L
- R* is the rate of star creation in our galaxy
- fp is the fraction of those stars which have planets
- ne is average number of planets which can potentially support life per star that has planets
- fl is the fraction of the above which actually go on to develop life
- fi is the fraction of the above which actually go on to develop intelligent life
- fc is the fraction of the above which are willing and able to communicate
- L is the expected lifetime of such a civilisation
- so a simple calculation gives us;
- R* = 20/year, fp = 0.1, ne = 0.5, fl = 1, fi = 0.5, fc = 0.1, and L = 100,000 years
- N = 20 x 0.1 x 0.5 x 1 x 0.5 x 0.1 x 100000 = 5000
5000 is a very conservative value I think but still it is high!
So we can modify this calculation for Protoss Civilization.
We will be more conservative because Protoss civilisation can became far more rare from humans.The reason is ofcourse high brain potential and also self destruction elimination.
- R* = 20/year, fp = 0.1, ne = 0.5, fl = 1, fi = 0.5, fc = 0.1, and L = 100,000 years
- N = 20 x 0.1 x 0.5 x 1 x 0.25 x 0.01 x 300000 = 5000
- Here we have changed ne = 0.25 because Aiur is a marshy planet like earth but the dimension of this planet is larger than earth which will make it rare.Basically larger planets will be gas based like Jupiter,not rocky based the reason is the gravitational effect.
- We take fi = 0.25 because the race Protoss is designed from special race XelNaga which makes them rare too.
- We take fc = 0.01 because Protoss characteristics is hidden type they will not want to cominicate easily.They like observing.
- and at last we take L=300000 a Protoss person lifetime is 3 times than human lifetime.
- the result is;
- 750.
- less than human life chance in our universe but not Zero!
